If you are asian and from a large publicOct 27 2003Cultures/Civilization
If you are asian and from a large public school, to have a minimum shot you gotta get above 1500 on your SAT. To have a real shot, go for above 1550. If you went to a small catholic high school, your chances are much better with 1400 range. Good luck.
SAT: 1600 Male
Honestly, there is not much you can do toOct 21 2003Undecided
Honestly, there is not much you can do to get in besides really good grades and good test scores. The essay is important, but it is not as important in the admission process as they make it out to be.
SAT: 1400 Female
I am a third-year transfer student from a communityOct 04 2003English
I am a third-year transfer student from a community college. I had a 3.86 GPA and awesome extracurriculars in which I was an important officer. If you want to get into social sciences as a California Community College transfer, 3.8 or 3.9 is the average transfer GPA (I talked with a UC Berkeley representative about this). For humanities (I'm in humanities as an English major), the average GPA is about 3.7. Once again, I had a 3.86. Extracurriculars in your intended major are very important, and doubly beneficial if you were in some type of leadership position. As for me, I recorded books for the blind and dyslexic (related to English major), was editor-in-chief of my school's literary magazine (English major), and was Vice President for a community service honors society (leadership position).

Do lots of extracirricular activities, especially community service. SATs and grades are important too, but your admission essay and other community activities are just as important.
